How to Prepare for Your First Enduro Race

Your first race is something you’ll never forget.

And the goal is simple:

👉 Finish strong.
👉 Enjoy the experience.
👉 Learn as much as possible.


Step 1: Prepare Your Bike

Make sure:

  • Tires are in good condition

  • Chain is adjusted

  • Brakes work properly

  • Suspension feels right

Reliability > performance


Step 2: Build Basic Fitness

You don’t need elite fitness—but you need endurance.

Focus on:

  • Interval training

  • Longer steady sessions

  • Grip strength


Step 3: Practice Race Situations

Train:

  • Riding in ruts

  • Starting and stopping

  • Riding with other riders


Step 4: Plan Your Race Strategy

👉 Start calm
👉 Find your rhythm
👉 Don’t chase others

Most riders go too hard early and fade.


Step 5: Manage Your Energy

  • Breathe

  • Relax your grip

  • Ride smooth

Smooth = fast.
